Descrição resumida da prática agroecológica

The Hortas Urbanas da Planta na Rua RJ project focuses on creating and maintaining urban gardens through voluntary gardening efforts in communities and suburban areas of Rio de Janeiro. These initiatives are made possible by combining resources from donations and a portion of the proceeds from our professional services. The project’s primary goal is to transform underutilized spaces into vibrant, productive gardens that provide fresh produce, strengthen community bonds, and promote environmental awareness. By turning empty lots and neglected areas into flourishing green spaces, we contribute to food sovereignty and the restoration of urban ecosystems.

Central to this project are the collaborative "mutirões" (community workdays), where volunteers, residents, and team members come together to learn and grow. These gatherings are not only about planting and gardening but also about exchanging knowledge and fostering a collective sense of responsibility for the environment. Participants are encouraged to get hands-on experience, learning practical skills such as soil preparation, planting techniques, and organic gardening methods. The Hortas Urbanas initiative embodies our mission to reconnect people with nature, empower communities, and make sustainable urban agriculture a shared reality for all
