Rede de troca de Sementes Tradicionais

Rede de troca de Sementes Tradicionais

Description sommaire

The Traditional Seed Exchange Network of Mato Grosso has distributed an impressive 2,500 kilograms of pesticide-free traditional seeds and seedlings to 40 communities across the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. This initiative goes beyond simply providing seeds—it is a vital effort to preserve and promote local biodiversity, safeguard the cultural heritage of traditional farming practices, and support food sovereignty. By ensuring these seeds remain free from chemical inputs, the network empowers communities to cultivate healthier, more sustainable crops while fostering resilience in the face of environmental and economic challenges. The program also encourages knowledge exchange among farmers, strengthening community ties and reinforcing the importance of agroecology as a pathway to a sustainable future.
