Description sommaire de la pratique agroécologique

At Kolea Farm, permaculture practices form the foundation of every activity on the land. The farm is designed as a food forest, where fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, and native plants grow together in layered harmony—mimicking natural ecosystems. This design reduces the need for chemical inputs and constant maintenance, while improving soil structure and moisture retention. Composting, mulching, and organic matter recycling are central practices, enriching the soil with nutrients and supporting a thriving network of microorganisms that sustain healthy plant growth.

Water conservation and energy efficiency are also key aspects of Kolea Farm’s permaculture system. Rainwater harvesting, natural irrigation patterns, and the use of gravity-fed systems ensure that water is used wisely. Companion planting and natural pest control maintain balance without synthetic pesticides. Through these interconnected systems, the farm demonstrates how human creativity and ecological understanding can work together to produce abundant food, restore ecosystems, and inspire sustainable living rooted in respect for nature.
