Brève description de votre localisation et de vos pratiques

Our agroecology work across Nakuru, Narok, Baringo, Laikipia, and Samburu counties focuses on promoting sustainable, climate-resilient, and inclusive food systems that enhance livelihoods while conserving natural resources. We support smallholder farmers and pastoralist communities to transition from conventional, input-intensive agriculture to ecological farming practices that improve soil health, biodiversity, and long-term productivity.

Through farmer training, demonstration plots, and community-led learning approaches, we promote practices such as organic soil management, composting, mulching, crop diversification, agroforestry, integrated pest management, water conservation, and the use of indigenous seed varieties. These practices strengthen resilience to climate change, reduce dependence on external inputs, and improve household food security and nutrition.

In the dry and semi-arid landscapes of Baringo, Laikipia, and Samburu, our interventions emphasise rangeland restoration, sustainable grazing, water harvesting, and climate-smart livestock management. In Nakuru and Narok, where mixed farming dominates, we focus on soil regeneration, sustainable crop production, and market linkages for agroecological produce.

We also work closely with local governments, community groups, and farmer organisations to strengthen policy advocacy, build institutional capacity, and promote supportive environments for agroecology. By integrating traditional knowledge with scientific approaches, our work contributes to healthier ecosystems, improved incomes, and more resilient rural communities.
